The Char Dham Yatra runs each year from April to early November, connecting four sacred shrines that mark the spiritual sources of India’s holy rivers — Ganga, Yamuna, Alaknanda, and Mandakini. Considered one of Hinduism’s most important pilgrimages, the high-altitude temples remain closed for about six months due to harsh winters, reopening in summer and closing in late autumn.
